How long have you lived in Mint Hill?  What brought you here?
We have enjoyed living in Mint Hill since 2016.  We have resided in the Charlotte Metro area since 2006 and Mint Hill has always been our favorite area because of its proximity and easy access to work and school and we have always loved the small-town vibe.

What are a few of your favorite things about living in the Matthews/Mint Hill area?
Everything from shopping to entertainment is right here in the Mint Hill and Matthews area.  We rarely need to leave the area outside of going into the office.  There is a huge sense of community and neighborliness in Mint Hill.

What local events do you enjoy or recommend?
Some of our favorites are the Mint Hill Rodeo, Mint Hill Madness, Matthews Alive, Matthews Winter Wonder Lights. Mint Hill Veteran Park event series (Parents Night Out, Family Fun Night, Mint Hill Pop-up Market); Mint Hill Scarecrow Decorating Contest, Matthews Beach Fest, and the Mint Hill Music & Brews.

Recommendations for a fun local date night?
There are many options, depending on what you like, from bowling at Bowlero Matthews, catching a movie at Cinemark Movie Bistro, Painting with a Twist (Indian Trail), Splatter Charlotte, Friday night sports games at Independence High School, and a stroll along the paths at Veterans Park.

What local restaurants to you like to frequent and a favorite menu items?
Empire Pizza - pizza and wings
Taxco - the Taxco top-shelf margarita and chicken quesadilla
MooYah - Sweet potato fries and the lettuce wrap turkey burger
Jeremiah's Italian Ice - every flavor Italian ice, gelati and soft served ice cream
Mint Hill Rock Store Bar B Que - BBQ pulled pork and pickled cucumbers

What is a "hidden gem" you would recommend a new resident experience?
Mint Hill Athletic Association (MHAA) is a great organization that provides recreational sports for children in the area. MHAA has a dedicated staff of volunteers who provide excellent coaching and lessons. Our kids have played soccer, baseball and softball there since 2015. Another precious gem of Mint Hill is the tree canopy lined Lawyers Road.  We love driving through the tree canopy on a sunny day.
