Why the Firebirds Have Become A Fan Favorite in Coachella Valley
When the Firebirds hit the ice at Acrisure Arena, it’s not just a hockey game—it’s an experience. In just three seasons, the team has become more than Coachella Valley’s hometown heroes; they’ve become part of the community. And the reason is simple: the Firebirds don’t just play for the fans; they listen to them.
Heading into the 2025-26 season, the Firebirds are rolling out changes designed straight from fan feedback. Think easier parking, pocket-friendly food and drink options, earlier weeknight games, and flexible ticket packages. Every adjustment has one goal: making Firebirds Territory more accessible, convenient, and enjoyable—a place where everyone can have a blast, from diehard hockey fans to families looking for a fun night out.
So what do these changes look like?
Affordable and Efficient Parking: Parking, a primary concern for fans on game night, just got a whole lot easier. Fans who purchase parking in advance via the ParkWhiz app can now park in the general Main Lot for just $20, with rates increasing on game day. “Parking price was a primary area of concern for our fans so it was important to adjust parking costs for the new season, which will create a better experience for all fans,” said John Page, Senior Vice President of Acrisure Arena and the Firebirds. “Working with fans to help pre-plan their game day experience will allow us to better streamline gameday parking logistics.”
Weekday Start Times & Happy Hour: Another big win for fans is earlier weekday puck drops. Monday through Thursday games will now start at 6:30 p.m., giving families more time to enjoy a game without sacrificing school nights or workdays. Even better, the new start time pairs perfectly with the Firebirds’ mid-week happy hour events at The Oasis (formerly The Patio), an outdoor hangout featuring live music, rotating food and beverage options, and deals like $5 draft beer and $10 wine.
Pocket-Friendly Food & Beverage Picks: Food and drink upgrades don’t stop at happy hour. Pocket-friendly menu items, many under $10, will now be offered throughout Acrisure Arena. From combo meals to pop-ups by local restaurants, the Firebirds are making sure game night remains as enjoyable for your wallet as it is for your taste buds.
Flexible Ticket Packages: The Firebirds’ popularity isn’t just about affordability—it’s about flexibility. Recognizing that not every fan can commit to a full season, the team has expanded its ticketing options. Half-season and nine-game plans give fans more ways to be part of the action. “It was important to develop other ticket packages that are inclusive of primary theme and event nights while also offering a mix of key match ups, community events and more as part of the experience,” said Page. In addition, group tickets and memberships add another layer of accessibility, creating opportunities for coworkers, clubs, and big families to cheer together.
Premium Seating: For those who want to experience game day in true desert style, premium seating is back. For the first time in three years, a limited number of seats have been released in the team’s premium clubs, where Coachella Valley leaders, tastemakers, and superfans gather to connect, unwind, and enjoy world-class entertainment while experiencing VIP amenities and inclusive food options.
Put all of this together and it’s easy to see why the Firebirds have become the valley’s hottest ticket. They’re not just offering hockey—they’re offering a full night out that feels equal parts sports, music, food fest, and community gathering. Families love it, young fans get hooked, and even people who’ve never been to a hockey game walk away as part of Firebirds Territory.
At the end of the day, the Firebirds’ secret isn’t just winning games—it’s how much they care about making fans feel at home. Whether you’re there for the goals, the grub, or the happy hour, one thing is guaranteed: you’re going to have fun.
