Georgetown is full of fun festivals and events, from Red Poppy Festival to the Christmas Stroll, to regular monthly events like Market Days and Pistons on the Square. Get your calendar ready; you’ll fill it up before you know it with all our community has to offer.


MONTHLY

Georgetown Market Days
During the second Saturday each month, March through November, you’ll find a wide variety of permanent merchants and restaurants eager to serve you. Check out the booths set up with arts and crafts, jewelry, unique clothing, wood crafts, ironworks, festive foods, antiques and collectibles, stained glass and much more, all right on the Georgetown Square! Downtown Georgetown Ghost Tours
Hosted by the Williamson Museum and promising to be even scarier than previous tours, this can’t-miss event will feature true stories of haunted historic buildings on the Georgetown Square and strange occurrences that really happen here! Tour dates and tickets can be found on williamsonmuseum.org.

Pistons on the Square
Car and motorcycle lovers, here’s something just for you — Pistons on the Square! Every third Saturday (depending on the weather) on the Georgetown square, you will find a gathering of antique, classic, muscle, late model cars, trucks and motorcycles. There’s no fee or registration, just bring your auto or not, and enjoy the show! Learn more at facebook.com/pistonsonthesquare.

SPRING

Cupid’s Chase 5K and Fun Run
Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to hit the pavement in this fun annual race! Cupid’s Chase includes a 5K and Kids 1K, so bring the whole family along (including your furry family members!). Typically held in February of each year, you can learn more at cupid.georgetown.org

Georgetown Photography Festival
Originally started in 2019, the Georgetown Photography Festival has quickly become a community favorite. Each year photographers from all over the Lone Star State come to Georgetown for classes, photo walks, and more. Festival-goers can also visit stations along the way and chat with featured photographers. Learn more at georgetowntexasphotographyfestival.com.

Georgetown Bridal Show
An annual event for over a decade, the Georgetown Bridal Show is the place to connect with wedding professionals. With over 70 vendors including bridal shops, caterers, photographers, and more, you’ll want to check out this show — especially if you’ve got a wedding coming up.

Soiree
“One night. Thousands of children helped.” That’s the mission of the annual Soiree. Held in the spring each year, the event raises money for local nonprofit organizations that help children and youth. The Soiree is always full of fun, great food, a silent auction, and more. The Georgetown Swirl
Watch the Square come to life for a unique night of food, drinks, shopping, and music during the annual Georgetown Swirl. Hosted by the Georgetown Main Street Program, the Swirl is a limited-ticket event that quickly sells out each year. Tickets get you access to a series of wine and food samplings at each participating location on the Square, and more! Ticket or not though, you’ll definitely want to stroll down to the Square for live music, a bite to eat, and enjoy the night. Learn more at swirl.georgetown.org.

Two Step Inn
In April of 2023, for the first time in Georgetown's history, our beautiful San Gabriel Park welcomed 30,000 country music fans to the Two Step Inn. This epic, first-of-its-kind, country music festival was a giant honkytonk featured 40 artists across 3 stages. For a full list of artists that performed at this event, visit www.twostepinn.com. Red Poppy Festival
You don’t want to miss this long-standing tradition in Georgetown! Hosted by Visit Georgetown, Texas, the three-day event includes a parade, activities, many local vendors, music, food, and fun! This annual festival is typically held in April and is free to attend. Learn more at poppy.georgetown.org.


SUMMER

Memorial Day and Independence Day
Enjoy Memorial Day and Independence Day in Georgetown! On Memorial Day, attend an annual ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Plaza in Sun City honoring those who have given their lives in service to our country. On Independence Day, you can also enjoy all kinds of festivities from fireworks to live music at different restaurants and venues, and more! Sunset Movie Series
Summer nights in Texas are simply splendid, especially with the Georgetown Parks and Recreation’s Sunset Movie Series! This free event is held once a month in San Gabriel Park, so bring a blanket or chair, snacks and get ready for the show! All movies begin at dusk and the movie lineup for each year is available at parks.georgetown.org/sunset-movie-series

Texas Bach Festival
Classical music fans rejoice! You’ll love this festival held in the summer each year. The mission of the festival is to celebrate Johann Sebastian Bach, his music, and influence. Their concert dates and details can be found at texasbachfestival.org.


FALL

Boo Bash
For over 10 years, the Downtown Georgetown Association has been hosting the annual Boo Bash. It’s a fun event for the whole family and is a great opportunity to gather on the Square for live music, trunk or treating, dinner and shopping, and recently added in the past couple of years, a Pet Costume Contest! Boo Run
Hosted by the Exceptional Georgetown Alliance (EGA), the annual Boo Run is a great way to get in the Halloween spirit! Run in costume in this fun annual 5K at San Gabriel Park, all while supporting the EGA’s mission of helping special needs kids and young adults in Georgetown! The run is usually held in October and you can learn more at exceptionalgeorgetown.org.

GTX Film Festival
New to the Georgetown festival scene is the annual GTX Film Festival. The festival exhibits large narrative films, documentaries, and short films in several different categories, especially Texas-made films. The multi-day festival is held at Georgetown’s movie theater, City Lights, and the festival also hosts mini-events throughout the year. Learn more at gtxfilmfestival.godaddysites.com.

Georgetown, TX Field of Honor 
The Georgetown, TX Field of Honor® has quickly become a much anticipated and beloved community tradition. Each year, the soccer field at San Gabriel Park transforms into a breathtaking display of over 1,500 full-size American flags, each dedicated to a veteran or first responder. The display is up and available to the public for a full week. Learn more at georgetowntxfieldofhonor.org.

K-9 Kerplunk
Held in the fall each year, the K-9 Kerplunk is an end-of-summer swim party just for dogs! Each year, as the Georgetown Recreation Center Outdoor Pool prepares to close for the season, pups of all sizes are invited to come splish and splash the summer away! WINTER

Blue and Brown Santa Drives
Each year, the Georgetown Police Department and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office host their annual Blue and Brown Santa programs and collect toys for children who may be in need during the holidays or who have lost their belongings as a result of a fire or natural disaster. Christmas Stroll and Parade
For over 40 years, the Georgetown community has gathered for the Christmas Stroll. This two-day Christmas spectacular includes a fun parade, vendors and food, Bethlehem Village, and more, plus the exciting and fun atmosphere of the Downtown Square during the holidays. Lighting of the Square
Each December, the Georgetown Square lights up with beautiful and enchanting Christmas lights. Typically held on the east steps of the Historic County Courthouse the day after Thanksgiving, there’s entertainment, shopping, toy drives for the Blue and Brown Santa programs, and memories to be made. Enjoy this free event with the whole family! 

Make A Smile Happen (M*A*S*H)
Hosted by Hello Georgetown, this combined toy, food, pet supply and cash donation drive supports five local nonprofits. For one day, the community gathers together to uplift incredible organizations by simply driving up to their donation station and dropping off a donation.
