Indy Family Fun!

I'm Brittany Lang, and my daughter Olivia and I are all about adventures!

After finishing college, I moved to Las Vegas and dove headfirst into a lifestyle filled with outdoor fun. From hiking and rock climbing to savoring all sorts of delicious cuisines, I was living the dream. But when I became a mom to Olivia, I knew I wanted to be closer to family and give her a more family-focused upbringing. So, in July 2021, we packed up and moved to Indiana, and it's been an incredible decision that we've loved every minute of since!

My roots lie approximately 30 minutes north of Indianapolis. Over the years, my extended family has gravitated towards areas like Fishers, Carmel, and Zionsville, fostering a sense of closeness that we greatly appreciate.

Our involvement in the community is extensive. Constantly exploring new locales and partaking in various activities, from flower-picking at local farms to navigating muddy terrain at Badlands Off Road Park, keeps us engaged. Both Olivia and I are avid practitioners of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at True Grit BJJ in Lawrence, and we actively participate in the Fortville Christian Church community. Additionally, I dedicate time to volunteering for S.O.C.S. (So Others Can Survive), providing essentials directly to homeless camps in downtown Indianapolis.

Olivia, at six years old, exudes a zest for exploration and activity. Currently excelling as a 4-stripe white belt in BJJ, she eagerly anticipates her next belt test. With a penchant for cheeseburgers and a love for climbing, whether at the playground or a climbing gym, she's always on the move.

Personally, I find solace in savoring red wine at establishments like Daniel's Vineyard or Urban Vines, though Peace Water Winery has recently caught my attention. Delighting in boutique shopping, downtown destinations in Noblesville, Fortville, Carmel, and Zionsville hold a special allure. For home decor, Persimmon Avenue in Noblesville, Allisonville Home & Garden in Fishers, and the Apple Butter Barn in Noblesville top my list. And for clothing, Beauty + Grace in Carmel, PJs Pink Boutique in Fortville, and Vintage Charm in Zionsville are favorites.

Our leisure activities often involve trampoline parks like Urban Air and Adrenaline, as well as climbing facilities such as Climb Time and Hoosier Heights. Last year, we celebrated Olivia's birthday with a paint party at Studio 309 in Fortville, an experience we thoroughly enjoyed.

Our go-to dining spot in Indy is The LOFT at Traders Point Creamery in Zionsville, renowned for its farm-to-table ethos. Attending Sunday school and worship services at Fortville Christian Church, I recently completed the Rooted study and subsequently led another group through it. Despite its small size, the church exudes warmth and inclusivity, fostering a sense of belonging.

Driven by a passion for exploration and a desire to inspire other families, I launched @indy.family.fun on Instagram, where I share our adventures and encourage families to embrace the abundance of experiences Indy has to offer.

While Indiana may lack topographical diversity, it certainly doesn't lack excitement. Whether it's outdoor adventures, artistic pursuits, family-friendly activities, shopping, or nightlife, Indy caters to all tastes, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy.
