The all-you-can-eat sushi concept first arrived in Reno, NV, largely driven by the growing popularity of sushi in the United States, the city's unique dining culture, and local restaurants' need to compete with casinos. Sushi and Teri pioneered the AYCE model in 1989, and other restaurants soon followed, making it the standard in Reno.
