Questions with Melissa Taylor, Executive Director of Reno Little Theater:

What do you want the new residents of Reno to know about the arts scene here in town?
As someone who relocated to Reno (13 years ago now), one of the very first things I fell in love with was its vibrant arts scene. There is no shortage of opportunity to see a show or to be a part of a show. There are so many wonderful theater companies, dance studios, music groups, visual arts galleries and studios - and every single one that I've ever reached out to has opened me with welcome arms! There's a fantastic spirit of collaboration in the Reno arts scene and it's a lovely way to engage with the community.

What makes the Reno Little Theater unique?
Reno Little Theater was founded in 1935, making it the longest-running community theater in the state of Nevada and one of the longest-running continuously operating arts institutions in the country! It's hard to find someone in Reno who hasn't seen a show, done a show, or had a relative who has done either of those things at Reno Little Theater. And while we are so proud of our long history, we're a really forward-thinking organization with aspirations to continue its legacy as an inclusive space where people of all ages and backgrounds can truly delve into their creative expression through collaboration with their community members.

Fun Fact:
As you’re driving around Reno, you’ll notice incredible murals, painted signal boxes, window galleries, banners, and even a video wall crafted by local artists here in town. Follow @renobigartslittlecity to stay connected and learn more!
