The 18-hole, par-63 executive Littleton Golf Course is naturally beautiful. It features two par-5's, four par-4's, a grass driving range with water targets and a practice putting green. Located adjacent to the South Platte River and the Mary Carter Greenway Trail, just west of downtown Littleton. Open to the public. SSPR residents receive District rates. The Littleton Tennis Bubble is the only public, indoor tennis facility in the area, featuring six indoor courts for year-round play. The “bubble” hosts lessons, in-house leagues, as well as USTA leagues and tournaments that draw tennis players from throughout the area.

The flat, dual-trail is a favorite among commuters and those who enjoy walking, biking and running. Choose from a paved trail or a crusher fines trail. The MCGT is an eight-mile, multi-use trail that parallels the South Platte River, from Chatfield State Park north to Englewood. South Suburban hosts several popular races along the MCGT year 'round (visit www.sspr.org/raceseries).

Spanning over 880 acres, this park is a natural oasis featuring 880 acres of open space along the South Platte River and Mary Carter Greenway Trail, offering five lakes for fishing, extensive trails and nature programs. At the Carson Nature Center, re-create the area’s famous 1965 flood at the interactive water table, or observe live animals in the center’s museum. Open Tuesday-Friday, 12-4:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Closed Mondays and holidays. Free admission.

A man-made waterway, used for irrigation and recreation that serves the Denver-Aurora metropolitan area. At 71 miles long, the High Line Canal is one of the longest continuous urban trails in the country, twisting through the most populated area of Colorado while crossing a diverse mosaic of communities and nature. The Canal originates at Waterton Canyon in Douglas County and runs to Green Valley Ranch in Northeast Denver.

This undeveloped park features a large, grassy slope used for sledding in the winter.

This Jeffco Open Space has dramatic red sandstone spires and stunning views of craggy outcroppings. The trails are well-suited for beginning mountain bikers, and hikers who prefer more level terrain.

Home to many different types of wildlife, including the popular Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep herd. There are also mule deer, black bears, mountain lion(s), elk, lizards and snakes, including the prairie rattlesnake. A winding dirt road trail takes you along the South Platte River and into a canyon. It is an out-and-back hike or bike ride, and you have a lot of options, from a short journey in to have a picnic, all to way to 12.4-mile round-trip adventure to the Strontia Springs Dam.
