Old Town Scottsdale Western Week

January 9-February 6, 2022

The Old West is etched in our history like a pocket knife carving on a mesquite tree. We’ve held tight to our past. It’s what makes this area so likable. Every year, Western Week restokes the embers of our rich heritage and ensures our western legacy glows as brightly as it did a century ago. All are welcome to experience what can only be described as one “heck of a good time” – parades, the Hashknife Pony Express, native American festivals, gold mining, live music, and museum exhibits.

 

Waste Management Phoenix Open

February 9-12, 2022

This nationally known event has hosted world-class golf pros including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy. Every year in late January, early February, TPC Scottsdale welcomes golfers, fans, families and friends to partake in this one-of-a-kind par-tee. This week-long event features not only golf but a number of exciting booths to explore, live music, food vendors and more. 

 

Arabian Horse Show

February 17-27, 2022

In February, one of the most prestigious shows comes to Scottsdale soil. This show allows not only for spectators to enjoy the majesty of these astonishing animals but also allows for a number of prize opportunities for breeders in a world-class venue, WestWorld of Scottsdale.

 

Cactus League Spring Training

February 26-March 29, 2022

Bring everyone out to the ballgame in March to watch teams from around the MLB gear up for the upcoming season. The Arizona Diamondbacks facility at Salt River Fields is off of the 101 and Pima and an excellent way to spend a March afternoon. Book tickets for popular match-ups early, as games can easily sell out ahead of time.

 

Parada del Sol Rodeo 

March 10-13, 2022

For equestrian enthusiasts, this annual event at WestWorld does not disappoint. This three-day rodeo and cultural event welcomes spectators each year to enjoy the wildly entertaining eight-second ride along with a parade and trails end festival through Old Town Scottsdale. Parada del Sol is a non-profit corporation that provides financial and volunteer support to charities that provide health care, resources and community programs for those that are underserved. 

 

Parada del Sol Parade

February 5, 2022

The Parada del Sol Historic Parade has been a Scottsdale, AZ, tradition since 1953. The streets of Old Town Scottsdale welcome over 30,000 spectators and nearly 150 Parade entries marching down Scottsdale Road. Beginning immediately after the Parade, The Trail’s End Festival is a huge block party for all ages, featuring live concerts, food, and fun.

 

Scottsdale International Film Festival

For over a decade, attendees have been treated to a lineup of quality films and programming. The festival will showcase up to 25 films from a variety of countries, originating from both first-time and seasoned filmmakers. With a selection of comedies, dramas, documentaries, thrillers, and more, audiences will be sure to find their niche watching one, several, or all of the films in the festival schedule.

 

Christmas at The Princess

December 16-January 2, 2022

When it is finally time to get into the holiday spirit, Fairmont Princess Scottsdale shows up. Christmas at The Princess is an annual event full of festive holiday events including an ice skating rink (yes, in the desert), Build-A-Bear workshop, “S’moresland,” Santa’s Secret Headquarters and more. For those looking for a more adult experience, Christmas at The Princess also features a “Winterland” full of twinkling lights and a frosty ice bar, rink-side fire pits and “Winterland” igloo rentals.

 

The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships

Each year, the city of Scottsdale welcomes The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships, an event full of fashion, music, sport and more. The event contains three separate polo matches spaced out throughout the day. In between each match, spectators can enjoy the world’s “longest” fashion show, a dog fashion show, food vendors, classic cars from Barrett-Jackson and local artist showcase. All of that, topped off with a post-polo concert, this event is thrilling for the whole family.

 

Canal Convergence

November 2022

The free, large-scale public art event – known for its annual, splashy takeover of the Scottsdale Waterfront – is returning this year, albeit in a different format. Taking place Nov. 6-Nov. 15, the outdoor event organized by Scottsdale Public Art will feature nine large-scale art installations and with social distancing in mind, these eye-catching works will be located across the entire Old Town Scottsdale area. Visitors can pick up or download a map, and drive, walk or bike the route to discover each piece. Then, the event continues virtually, with live music, workshops and artist talks online. 

 

Barrett-Jackson Auction

January 21-30, 2022

A classic event full of classic cars and timeless memories, the Barrett-Jackson Auction drives into Scottsdale every year. This auction features some of the most classic cars available for looking and bidding to anyone and everyone. The event will also be shown on both FYI and HISTORY channels.
