A Note From City Councilwoman Jan Dubauskas

Welcome to Scottsdale! We are excited you chose to live in our extraordinary community. We are blessed to live a high-quality lifestyle in a very beautiful location.  With the largest urban nature preserve in the United States and the lowest taxes in the valley, Scottsdale truly has it all. On top of that, Scottsdale is a great place to be all year round, especially in the spring!
Scottsdale’s spring months show off our beautiful weather and give residents an opportunity to see our city at its best. With wildflowers and cactus in bloom, it is a perfect time to visit the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Many years ago, far-sighted residents worked with the city and Scottsdale set aside 30,000 acres as a nature preserve.
Today the McDowell Sonoran Preserve is the largest urban preserve in the US, 18 times the size of New York City’s Central Park! With trails, guided hikes, and animals galore – everyone is sure to enjoy the Preserve. Visiting the Preserve is easy with several trailheads located throughout the city. Enjoy an evening in Old Town Scottsdale strolling our historic sites, galleries, and our distinguished Smithsonian affiliate - the Western Spirit: Museum of the West. Learn more about our charming Old Town at www.oldtownscottsdaleaz.com
Foodies will enjoy Arizona Restaurant Week from May 15 – 24, 2026. Restaurant Week offers you an opportunity to try a 3-course menu at a discounted price. My family enjoys trying new restaurants and menu items in areas of Scottsdale that are outside of our usual bubble. If you are new to town or if you have lived here awhile, you may find your new favorite place! Learn more at: www.arizonarestaurantweek.com
Again, thank you for choosing Scottsdale – it’s an incredible city all year around, especially in the spring. We are glad to have you! We hope that you will have an opportunity to join us and enjoy the many events, places, and experiences that Scottsdale has to offer.
