We have so many wonderful parks in our area located throughout the community, and include large sports complexes, small neighborhood parks, acres of open space, more than 75 playgrounds, splash parks, dog parks and miles and miles of trails. Get outside, and find your next adventure.  

Ackerman Park

800 St. Charles Rd.

An athletic hub in Glen Ellyn, Ackerman Park features six lighted baseball diamonds, eight youth baseball/softball fields, multiple soccer fields, and a sand volleyball court. In addition, the park features a playground, shelter, picnic tables, a connection to the Great Western Trail, and a wood-chipped trail. Ackerman Park is also home to Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center. A large parking lot and temporary restrooms (April-October) are available.

Foxcroft Park

2S540 Lambert Rd. 

Situated on 3-acre Lake Foxcroft, the park features a playground, open shelter, picnic tables, a large open play area, a paved walking path, and a fishing pier (catch-and-release only). A small parking lot is available as well as portable restrooms (April/May-November 1, weather dependent). Lake Foxcroft Park is also home to a sustainable garden surrounding the entrance sign.

Lake Ellyn Park

645 Lennox Rd.

Situated along beautiful Lake Ellyn, this 25-acre park features a large open play area, playground, drinking fountain, two clay tennis courts, catch-and-release fishing, natural restoration area, a veterans' memorial, and a picnic area with grills. An almost mile-long trail winds through the park and around the perimeter of the lake allowing visitors to enjoy a picturesque view while jogging or biking. Street parking is available as well as a year-round public restroom. The park is also home to the historically restored Lake Ellyn Boathouse. In the winter, outdoor ice skating is available on the lake, weather permitting.

Maryknoll Park

This 24.5-acre park is your one-stop destination for family fun. In addition to an adventure playground and the Holes and Knolls Mini Golf Course, Maryknoll Park boasts the following features: splash park, platform tennis, 75-foot Berliner cable ride, bean bags, bocce ball courts, horseshoe pit, open play area, picnic pavilion, party pavilion (available for rent), and nine-hole disc golf course. A large parking lot is available, as well as, restrooms within the Maryknoll Clubhouse.

Newton Park

707 Fairview Ave.

The 25-acre park is home to the Bill Pope Memorial Synthetic Turf Field, two natural grass football/lacrosse fields, one official-size baseball fields (lighted), two tennis courts (with pickleball lines), a basketball court, and the Skate Park. In addition, the park features a playground, open play area, picnic area/shelter, year-round public restrooms, and multiple parking lots. In the winter, two unsupervised, outdoor ice rinks and a sled hill are available (weather permitting).

  

Village Green Park

130 S. Lambert

This 30-acre park is an athletic hub in Glen Ellyn. The park is home to four official-size baseball diamonds (lighted), four youth baseball/softball fields, a soccer/lacrosse field, a basketball court and two tennis court (with pickle-ball lines). In addition, the park features a playground with spray area, two picnic shelters, drinking fountain, and the Park District's Community Garden Plots. Plenty of parking is available as well as temporary restrooms (April-October).

Four Seasons Park

Finley Road and 16th Street

Four Seasons is one of the District’s biggest parks that welcomes visitors from all surrounding areas. Four Seasons is home to Lombard Park District’s Log Cabin rental facility which hosts annual special events like Family Camp Out. Other popular attractions in the park include a fishing pond, numerous athletic fields and courts, playgrounds, and areas for picnicking. Be sure to visit Four Seasons in the wintertime for sledding!

 

Lilacia Park

150 S. Park 

Lilacia Park is world-renown horticultural showcase that features over 700 lilacs and 25,000 tulips annually. The park has numerous benches, walking paths, commemorative bricks, historic structures, scenic lookout areas and more. Lilacia Park hosts many special events each year including the Mutt Strut Annual 5K and 1-Mile, Movies and Concerts in the Park, Jingle Bell Jubilee, Holiday Lights, and more. Lombard Common

433 E. St. Charles Rd.

Lombard Common is one of the District’s larger parks frequented by visitors from all surrounding areas. Lombard Common is home to the award-winning Paradise Bay Water Park, Lombard Community Building, a challenging suburban nine-hole disc golf course, multiple playgrounds, athletic fields and two full-size basketball courts. The park is also used for many major park district programs and special events from seasonal Teen Dances and Fall Fest, to T-ball, senior programs and more.

Lombard Lagoon Park

430 Marcus Dr.

Lombard Lagoon is a favorite park for nearby residents park-goers. It features a large shallow lagoon with native plants and boulders along the shoreline. The park’s landscape is accented by a boathouse-style structure, available for rent year-round with waterfront views.

 

Madison Meadow

500 E. Wilson Ave.

Madison Meadow is one of the District’s largest parks frequented by visitors from all surrounding areas. Madison Meadow is home to the state-of-the-art Madison Meadow Athletic Center, a popular suburban 18-hole disc golf course, multiple playgrounds, athletic fields and a full-size basketball court, skate park and so much more!

 

Sunset Knoll Park

820 Finley Rd.

Sunset Knoll is among the most popular parks to visit in Lombard. The park houses numerous year-round amenities from a free splash pad and sledding hill, to all-season bags courts and spacious athletic fields. Sunset Knoll is also home to Sunset Knoll Recreation Center, the Lombard Park District’s primary registration facility. 

Cosley Zoo

1356 N. Gary Ave., Wheaton, IL

Cosley Zoo gives visitors up-close interactions with nature right in the heart of the suburbs. Nestled on 5 acres, Cosley Zoo is home to farm animals and native Illinois wildlife. Visitors will discover exhibits that immerse them in natural habitats for white-tailed deer, red fox, Blanding’s turtles, a bobcat, a coyote, a black-crowned night heron, and more.

Herrick Lake Forest Preserve

3S580 Naperville Rd.

The 887-acre Herrick Lake Forest Preserve in Wheaton is one of the Forest Preserve District’s most popular preserves. Hikers, bicyclers, horseback riders and cross-country skiers can enjoy more than 7 miles of trails, including a section of nationally designated Danada-Herrick Lake Regional Trail. A path around the lake connects both parking lots to the picnic grounds and the trailhead, and additional trails cut through central and southern parts of the preserve. There is also catch-and-release fishing, boat and canoe rentals and more.

Northside Park

1300 N. West S.

This park has tennis courts, baseball field, a great public pool, walking paths, children’s playground, zip line, a fishing lagoon and ice-skating pond and sledding hill in the winter. It's a nice place to enjoy a serene atmosphere and to bird watch.

Seven Gables Park

Many soccer games will be played at Seven Gables. In addition to the soccer fields, there are tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, a lake for fishing, and several trails. Definitely a popular on the weekends!

"I so much enjoy going to Lake Ellyn Park for years now. Love walking all around the lake and looking at the views. The playground is great for little ones. Boat house looks great, and like watching people catch little fish and release. Probably some of the most favorite things is all the mature trees. It's so calm there that it is easy to relax. Lots of people with hammocks just chillin', and a lot of the houses around Lake Ellyn are pretty spectacular, so even great views on both sides when walking around the park and lake." – Vicky K.
